February Favorites 💕

Hi, guys! I’ve been wanting to do a favorites post for a while, and now that February is over I can! I’m not going to waste a whole lot of time, so let’s get right into it.

  1. Grey’s Anatomy. I’ve really been into “Grey’s” lately, and it’s a perfect show to watch at night for me. A golden show for ice cream eating, that’s for sure.
  2. Spotify’s Acoustic Mashup playlist. I love this playlist so much. It matches my cozy aesthetic and is a good morning playlist and perfect for unwinding. Here’s a link: https://open.spotify.com/user/spotify/playlist/5uSVaNDK1MqYaE5rTi0RVn (I’m head over heels!)
  3. Dodie Clark. Her YouTube is the best place! Check her out at doddleoddle and doddlevloggle. Her Snapchat is the same as her main channel name.
  4. La La Land. I finally saw it, and let me tell you I’m so in love it’s not even funny! I actually cried at the end. People are hating on it because of the thing at the Oscars with “Moonlight”, but you have to understand it wasn’t their fault. They didn’t take away from it’s win! It’s still an amazing movie with a soundtrack I’m always humming (especially the piano theme and “Someone in the Crowd”).
  5. Riverdale. This new CW show has me obsessed! The plot is compelling, the characters are rounded and so shippable, and there’s always a surprise. It’s based off of the Archie comics, only this is a murder mystery filled with drama. Veronica Lodge destroyed everyone’s favorites and if you don’t aspire to be Kevin Keller you aren’t yet living. I love Betty and Jughead (played by Cole Sprouse, my love) is basically perfect. I hope Archie grows on me, though.
  6. Fairy lights. These are always my favorites!
  7. “Bridges” by Broods. I’m not usually into this type of music heavily, but I love this song so much! I know I’ve been saying that a lot, but it’s true.
  8. Emma Watson. This woman is my role model, quite honestly. I’m so excited to see “Beauty and the Beast”!
  9. Miraculous Ladybug. Though it’s a children’s show, I really like it. Parisian superheroes, secret identities, and crushes! What else would you like?

Let me know some of your current favorites!

Things You Need to Know

1. Go to sleep when you’re supposed to. An early night’s rest means earlier waking up. You’d be surprised how breathtaking a sunrise is. You’d be surprised how mornings can be the best time of day. And the sleep helps your body function at school, at work, at home.
2. Have you eaten today? Have you had anything to drink? Go to the kitchen and get some water, eat some fruit. Maybe some milk? Work with your dietary needs. Food will calm you and give you the energy to keep going.

3. Dress up! I don’t mean wear a costume; wear nicer clothing than usual. It will make you feel like you need to do something special, like you need to get something done. So you will!

4. Treat yourself how you would a puppy. Feed yourself, give yourself something to drink. Take yourself outside and go to the bathroom. Tell yourself you’re amazing and let yourself accept affection. Move around!

5. Try a happy playlist on Spotify! Oftentimes, the happy beats and lyrics empower you.

6. No matter what you’re dealing with, the sun will shine again. There must be rain for a rainbow. This test isn’t trying to break you. It’s trying to push you to your limits and making your limits go out the door. It’s trying to show you that you can do anything. Only if you try.

7. You’re worth it. Don’t think you aren’t, not for a second. People who speak to you aren’t pitying you. They want you in their lives. Let them love you.

8. Everyone will notice. At least someone will miss you. I’d miss you.

9. If you can’t bring yourself to hurt a puppy or a kitten, why yourself? Your life is just as important as theirs.

10. “Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind always.”

11. The first shot of adrenaline (or however you’d like to refer to it) usually only lasts about a minute. Your body will get rid of it by using it up in those sixty seconds. Count backwards from sixty if you’re panicking. It helps to prevent panic attacks.

12. Try “square breathing”. 1- breathe in for four seconds. 2- stop breathing for four seconds. 3- breathe out for four seconds. 4- stop breathing for four seconds. It helps!

I hoped these tips and reminders. helped you. Come back to it when you need to. Comment your favorite tips, and I might make a part two. Would you like one?

Ideal Disney Movie Marathon!

In all honesty, I can’t think of anything more appealing than a Disney movie marathon- unless it was with friends and/or at a Disney Park! However, sometimes I get a little picky about which ones I watch. I like to pick ones I know I’ll enjoy. Here’s a list of my favorite ones to watch!

  1. The Princess and the Frog
  2. Up
  3. Ratatouille
  4. Tangled
  5. The Little Mermaid
  6. The Lion King
  7. Mulan
  8. Toy Story
  9. Cinderella

These movies have great scores and musical numbers, and are so fun to watch! I love the funny lines in them, and the loveable characters.

What are your favorite Disney movies? Are they classic? Or maybe your prefer a princess week? Let me know in the comments!

Hi. It’s me. You? Us? The pronouns will probably shift in this. Yeah. For sure. Anyways, it’s almost my (our?) birthday. I’m still young and dumb and unnecessarily sarcastic and I probably sound very terrible when you’re reading this. I’m sorry.

The reason I’m writing this is I’VE GOT SOME QUESTIONS FOR YOU, GOSH DARN IT.

First off, do you play the ukulele? It’s such a random question to ask, but I’m contemplating playing it and I might get one but I hope I’m not terrible. Tell me I’m not terrible!

Second, do you have a boyfriend? Honestly, everyone at my school is awful except a few people. There’s no escape from the terror.

Are you going through something rough? Has someone close to us died? Have you died? I hope not… Well, if you are going through something terrible, we’ll get through it. Wow, the pronouns are terrible in this.

Do I get better at blogging? How’s my Wattpad? Do you use either anymore? Probably not. (If I do, though, I’m kind of curious what all I’ve written. Have I hit 1k on anything?)

Does my hair/skin/eyes get better? I can’t see to save my life. My hair is odd from coloring it. I honestly wish I’d left it the same and hadn’t died it at all. Does my skin stop being oily in some places and dry in others? Do I fix that?

How tall are you? How much do you weigh? I hope I’m not too heavy. It’s unhealthy, if you are. PLEASE DIET.

Do you still live in the same place? Where do you live? Oh, I’m so curious. What do phones look like? Do you work at a fast-food chain? Please tell me it’s at least a coffee shop if it’s after school or whatever.

Did you drop out? I don’t think I’ve got that in me. Have you gone to jail? What are you reading? What are you watching? Are the Marvel movies still good? Are they still making any? How’s Disney?

Where’s Dad living? How old would Olivia be when you’re reading this? I want to read it five years from now… so… oh, Jesus, she’s fifteen! Sixteen? Is she still angsty and kind of condescending? Is she arty? I hope she’s arty. How are her friends? Is she popular with her classmates? Is she a walking meme (sorry, it’s 2017 speak)?

How are your friends? Do you have any? Please tell me you keep in touch with Grace still. How’s she? Who are your friends? Did we move?

How’s Mom? Is she good? I hope so.

What music do you like? Does your boyfriend like it too? Did you adopt a dog together? That’d be adorable. Aw. Expensive, though.

Do I ever do YouTube? Am I good at it? Is it even still around? Do people use it? Have people moved on? IS THE INTERNET GONE?¿?!¡!

How’s Grandmother? Papa? Granny? DeeDee? I hope they’re alive. DeeDee is probably living. Did something bad happen?

Does my sense of style get better? Do I wear cute dresses? Am I emo? Goth? I hope not. Did Dodie Clark marry Jon Cozart or at least kiss him?

This is becoming crazy so I’m going to stop. I hope you can reply to it. Bye!

How I Take Notes!

With the new semester coming soon (even though we’re on break), taking notes is going to have to come into play. My teacher often gives hand-outs, and I do scribble down things while she’s talking. However, that’s not their final form.

When I want to get something I can actually read and study, I make an outline. In case you’re not familiar with those, let me do an example.

(I’m very aware my handwriting is atrocious. I scrawled it out quickly. )

Start off with a Roman numeral for the section’s title. If you’re working from a book, this is easy. Make sure to go in sequential order, if you’re working with history. This represents one of the most major things or a chapter/section title.

After that, put a capital letter. This is for one of the most important events/things to know.

Underneath that, put a number. That is a crucial detail about the thing.

Finally, put a lowercase letter if needed to go into even further detail.

If you like, you can highlight to make it even easier to read. I love this simple technique because everything is clearly broken apart. It’s easy to write out and doesn’t take very long.

Comment down below how you take notes, and any tips for us needy people!

What I Got for Christmas 2016

Hey! It’s Julia, and I want to wish you a merry Christmas! I love reading/watching WIGfC things, so I figured I’d make one myself. Before I say anything, though, let me explain something: I’m in no way bragging or showing off about these gifts. I’ve got a lot of family and have been fortunate enough to get all of these. Now that I’ve said that…. Let’s get into it!

  1. A rose gold iPhone 6s. I’ve been wanting a new phone for a while now, but wasn’t too fond of the lack of a headphone jack on the 7, so I opted for the 6s. I love it!
  2. A record player. I always found these so cool, and I’m extremely excited to have one now. It’s blue (turquoise shade) and so cute!
  3. “Blurryface” and “The 1975” records. I love both of these albums, and was so excited to receive them!
  4. A rose gold Disney watch. Featuring the classic Minnie Mouse with her flower hat, this watch (a little more bronzy than the iPhone) is one of my favorite gifts. It’s adorable!
  5. A pink bucket bag. If you want to steal my style, it’s from American Eagle, but I’m obsessed. It’s the perfect amount of space for me.
  6. Capture Your Style by Aimee Song. I saw this at Books A Million recently and was obsessed instantly. My dad was kind enough to get it for me. It’s essential for anyone who loves taking pics with their phone and/or building an Instagram empire.
  7. Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick. Though I’m not finished, I love this book. It’s filled with humor straight from one of my favorite actresses. Definitely pick up a copy!
  8. The Girl’s Guide to Homelessness by Brianna Karp. My mom has read it and was in love with the telling of this woman’s experiences. She was even fortunate enough to hear her speak live. I’m so excited to read it.
  9. Nike Free Runs. My pair that was ordered was a bit too small, but we’re going to try to exchange them. I’ve been wanting a pair for a while, as I’ve been wearing a dirty old pair of white Converse for a good minute. I’m looking forward to wearing them.
  10. “Dead Poets Society” and the book adaptation. I adore this movie, and was so happy to get this! I’m definitely going to marathon-read it and watch the movie so many times that I hate it.
  11. “Pentatonix” album. This is an amazing album. I was lucky enough to see them live, and it was such a good concert! I recommend their Christmas music for someone discovering them for the first time, as it is usually a favorite.
  12. A black and pink Vans book bag. My previous book bag broke, so this was so appreciated. It fits everything perfectly!
  13. Gift cards. I got: Ulta, iTunes, Books A Million,
  14. Some makeup brushes. Thanks, Mom! These are definitely needed, as my sister is stingy with hers.
  15. A new eyeshadow palette. It’s nude colors and some blush shades. Though I don’t have it with me; I think it’s Almay.
  16. Candy. Obviously, I have a chocolate affinity. I’m not as big a fan of other candies.
  17. A cute Santa mug. My grandmother gifted me this, with a gift card and a Starbucks peppermint hot chocolate single serving. Thanks!
  18. A light hoodie. I live in the south, so I’ve got some unnecessary winter heat. It’s navy blue and says NEED MORE COFFEE. The “o” in more is a coffee cup, and I’m obsessed.
  19. A BB-8 droid. Granted, as I’m always very late, I haven’t seen “The Force Awakens”. However, I’m going to be watching it soon. I’m very happy with this; it seems so fun!
  20. A bottle of birthstone nail polish. From Julep, I got some January birthstone nail polish. It’s a sparkly light pink, and I love it. It reminds me of a Disney princess, quite honestly.
  21. Clothes. Of course, family members always give out clothing. I really love them, however, because they’re mostly pretty plain or a cute one with minimal designs, making them perfect for a Disneybound.
  22. A clear case and a PopSocket. For my phone, as I dropped it a billion times already, the PopSocket was a necessity for holding it, as well was the case. I wanted it clear to show the rose gold, and I love it.
  23. A mini Wizard of Oz tea set. When I was a teensy child (though I’m still pretty much a child, haha), I was obsessed with WoO. It was my life. I had the dress (which I wouldn’t take off), the ruby slippers, and the DVD box set. It was kind of unhealthy. I had a party for my birthday (you can guess what theme), and everyone came dressed up. One girl was even the yellow brick road! Point is, it was an awesome throwback.
  24. A blue watch. It’s super cute, and I got it from my grandmother. I’m already planning on using it in a Lady Tremaine Disneybound.

Well, I think that’s the end! If I forgot your gift, I’m SO sorry, but know I haven’t forgotten you, and I appreciate it greatly.

How to Disneybound

Have you ever seen those people completely rocking a clearly Disney inspired outfit and thought, “I need to do this!” A lot of times, people aren’t sure how, though. Where do I start? Are these the right colors? Am I walking too close to cosplay? Here is my step-by-step guide to the magic of Disneybounding. (Side note: yes, I’ve posted about this before, but I wanted to get this up, since I’ve been slacking on posting lately. Sorry!)
1. Decide on your character. This is by far the simplest step, unless you’re having issues on picking a favorite (which I totally get all the time). Once you’ve decided, if it is a human, pick an outfit of their’s. Oftentimes, they have more than one, and you can have your pick of which would be easier and the colors you could rock better.

2. Plan out your colors. Say you’re doing Nala- she’s so easy, as she has a nude palette. However, Kida would be more challenging, as she has a specific blue she wears. You always want to get as close to that shade as you can.

3. Check your closet- is there anything you have that is already practically perfect in every way? I would bet you there is at least a pair of shoes you could wear! Make sure it matches and would go well with what you have in mind. Yet there are always cases where you don’t own things. So, what do you do?

4. Shop! Forever 21, Gap, and H&M often have great choices. Solid pieces are often best, as they give you more freedom and get your point across easier. However, say you’re doing Ariel. That white top with the shells is so perfect- so grab it and buy it faster than you can say “dinglehopper”.

5. Accessorize. This is a fun step, but can get difficult if not done correctly. You don’t want to focus on the main colors- choose to work with accent colors. A fun, simple, beginner Bound would be Mike from “Monsters Inc.” in ‘Put That Thing Back Where It Came From or So Help Me’. Wear a little black dress or all black in general to represent the stage, but a little bright green necklace that represented Mike would perfectly tie it together.

6. Show it off! Maybe you’re wearing it to a Disney Park, or you’re blogging it and showing it off that way. Whichever method you choose, don’t let your outfit go to waste! It took a lot more than faith, trust, and pixie dust to make it, after all.

7. Plan the next one! It’s too fun to do just once.

But what if you’re curious, “But is this actually cosplay?” Say you’re doing Joy from “Inside Out”. If you’re wearing a wig, it’s cosplay. If your dress is a copy of her’s (hello, Hot Topic) it’s cosplay. Wigs aren’t okay for Disneybounding. It makes it instantly a low-budget cosplay.

Link me your outfits! I would love to see them. I dare you to try to do a Disneybound for Christmas, whether it’s for an elaborate party or just your pajamas on Christmas morning.
